PT, DPT
Physical Therapist
Hi, I’m Alisa Patel, a pelvic floor physical therapist dedicated to helping people of all genders find relief from pelvic pain. I understand how deeply pelvic issues can affect your physical, emotional, and sexual well-being. I’ve been trained to treat the full spectrum of pelvic pain—anything that involves genital pain, urinary or bowel dysfunction, or sexual health concerns. I chose to specialize in pelvic health because these are intimate, often embarrassing issues that people struggle to talk about—yet they are essential to how we live and connect with others. Peeing, pooping, and having pain-free intercourse are basic functions we take for granted—until something goes wrong. And when it does, you deserve someone who will take it seriously.
Many of my patients come to me feeling frustrated after seeing multiple providers without answers. If you’ve ever been told to “just do Kegels” or “have a glass of wine to relax,” that is unacceptable. There is more we can do. Through careful listening and a thorough assessment, I work with you to uncover the root causes of your symptoms. You deserve to feel confident in your body—to travel, exercise, enjoy intimacy, and play with your kids without fear of your bladder, bowels, or pain getting in the way. I’m here to be part of your support team, acting as a true detective to figure out WHY.
Core Value: Compassion and Accountability
I want to improve their confidence in their bladder and bowel control. I want them travel, socialize, work, and live without thinking about their pelvic pain.
I specialize in Pelvic Floor Dysfunction and particularly enjoy treating conditions such as Persistent Genital Arousal Disorder, Overactive Bladder, Vulvodynia, Vestibulodynia, Genitourinary Syndrome of Menopause, and Genitourinary Syndrome of Lactation.
I like that I have the freedom to treat who I feel my patients deserve to be treated without any limitations from insurance or politics from corporate practices care.
“Live begins at the end of your comfort zone” Neale Donald Walsh
I love watching TV series such as Ted Lasso, Schitt’s Creek, and Breaking Bad.
Outside the clinic, I’m a proud and busy mom to two boys just 16 months apart. We’re currently navigating potty training, with a toddler learning to master the squatty potty. My youngest son has Down Syndrome, and his diagnosis has been a deeply humbling and transformative experience. Being part of his care journey—and active in the Down Syndrome Association of Central Texas—has made me a more compassionate physical therapist. I’ve learned so much from his therapy team, which continues to shape how I support and educate my own patients as a pelvic health therapist. When I’m not in the clinic, you’ll find me spending time with my family, enjoying a glass of wine, and/or chasing after my two energetic boys! Thrifting, working out, and watching true-crime documentaries is what I chose to do for self-care.
